Abstract A singlet oxygen production was monitored using a sensor green chemical probe; reaction of probe with produces fluorescent endoperoxide. Adding ethanol to the irradiated system resulted in decrease fluorescence signal, which indicates concentration formed under UV-C irradiation. Thus, likely quench study. This quenching did not occur use methanol. When irradiating E. coli cells presence and Rose Bengal for higher production, there greater reduction radiation sensitivity compared without Bengal. Higher caused protection cells; thus, it is that can scavenge provide partial bacteria from effects radiation. These results were previously published data where by gamma alcohols.
